Capabilities

Intelligence for every part of the operation

Each capability states the data it uses, the questions it answers and the kind of output it produces.

Demand Forecasting

Recommendation

Combines historical participation, day of week, Meal Program, shift, attendance, leave, pauses, additional orders, holidays, events, seasonality and location—and explains the factors behind each recommendation.

  • How many lunches should we prepare tomorrow?
  • Why is Friday’s forecast lower than usual?

Kitchen Intelligence

Recommendation

Uses authorized demand, recipes, kitchen capacity, historical yield and production performance.

  • How much should Kitchen A prepare?
  • Which dish has the highest production variance?
  • Which production batches had unusual yield?
  • How should production be distributed between kitchens?

Inventory Intelligence

Recommendation

Compares usable stock, expected usage, confirmed incoming supply and safety stock.

  • What will run short this week?
  • Which inventory will expire before expected use?
  • Which ingredients are consistently overstocked?
  • Which items create the highest spoilage cost?

Procurement Intelligence

Draft action

Demand forecast + menus + recipes + inventory + incoming supply + stock rules = procurement recommendation. MealSec AI may prepare a draft Purchase Requisition; an authorized user reviews and approves it.

  • Which ingredients should we purchase?
  • Prepare a requisition for next week’s shortages.

Waste Intelligence

Insight

Follows forecast → commitment → production → serving → consumption → waste to find where variance occurs.

  • Tuesday lunch production averaged 8.4% above actual serving during the previous six weeks. Where did the variance occur?

Provider Intelligence

Insight

For foodservice providers serving many clients across kitchens and routes.

  • How much should Central Kitchen A prepare tomorrow?
  • Which clients frequently change requirements after cutoff?
  • Which route has the most delivery delays?
  • Which kitchen has the highest production waste?

Nutrition Intelligence

Information

Subject to authorization, helps users and professionals understand intake trends, nutrient patterns, meal consistency, consumption changes and menu nutrition. It remains decision support and never diagnoses disease or prescribes clinical treatment.

  • How has my protein intake changed this month?

Food-Safety Intelligence

Insight

Surfaces risk patterns such as repeated temperature deviations in a cold room, repeated rejected deliveries from a supplier or recurring corrective actions in a kitchen. It never declares food safe where deterministic controls or authorized verification are required.

  • Which cold rooms had repeated temperature deviations?

Example

A reorder suggestion you can check

Every number in a recommendation comes from records you can open: usable stock, expected usage from the menu and forecast, confirmed deliveries and your safety-stock rule. The suggestion becomes a draft requisition only when you ask, and a purchase only when someone authorized approves it.

Import Assistant & Document Intelligence

Bring your existing data in faster

The Import Assistant suggests how your spreadsheet columns map to MealSecretary fields, shows its confidence and asks you to review uncertain mappings. Imports can include employees, students, patients, foods, recipes, suppliers, inventory, cards and Meal Programs.

Future Document Intelligence will extract structured information from supplier invoices, purchase documents, delivery notes, food and nutrition labels, product specifications and inventory sheets. Extracted information is validated before it becomes authoritative data. Planned
